How do B2B customers take their coffee?

Situation

The Starbucks B2B Corporate Gift Card team needs several annual campaigns to help drive bulk orders of their Starbucks Cards throughout the year. Email, display ads, and banners on  their B2B site are run for dozens of employee, product, and season-based holidays.

Approach

As the senior copywriter I worked with design and creative director partners at an agency, and marketing managers at Starbucks to develop consistently high-performing copy. Each campaign has several possible concepts and executions, driven towards the buyers who are typically in roles like executive assistant at large corporations, stressing the ease-of-use, the ubiquity of love for Starbucks among teams and customers they might give the cards to, and the versatility thanks to many designs for different industries and occasions.

Results

Throughout the years, I’ve been able to consistently deliver better results on their campaigns, averaging:

35% increase in open rates

14% decrease in bounce rate on traffic coming from our campaigns

9.6% increase in engaged sessions on site
