Premium.Domains Social Media Creative Direction

How do you give virtual real estate value?

Launching and nurturing a luxury digital brand for growth.

Situation

Premium.Domains owns and sells high-value domains with unique TLDs (top level domains), like .marketing and .legal. They were preparing to launch their new brand, and needed help with art direction to bring it to social platforms and make an impact among entrepreneurs, SEO-enthusiasts, and domain resellers.

Approach

Premium.Domanis was a client of my agency, WILL+WAY, and I served as the content strategist, project manager, and creative director leading a team of junior copywriters, art directors, and motion graphics specialists. I explored the chief market of domain investors and found a major motivator—the fear of missing out. And among entrepreneurs struggling to find .com domains that were memorable and SEO-friendly, I found a major objection—will anyone take them seriously if they don’t have a .com? From these two forces, I created concepts for recurring social posts that showed the investors how many opportunities were being lost as big ticket clever domains got sold, with fast animated posts. And for the entrepreneurs, I elevated examples of big brands using non-standard domains to grant the concept legitimacy. The visual language was premium to match the brand name, and attention-catching to stand out from the pack.

Results

Between the creative direction and our social marketing strategy, Premium.Domains overall saw:

71% increase in visitors to website from social over 1 year

10% sustained increase in influencer followers across social channels

300% increase in big-ticket domain sales
