How do you drive sales in a post-Amazon world?
With physical retail continuing to decline, Amazon taking up sales for a lot of the types of aftermarket parts and electronics they sell, and an owned online channel that didn’t drive enough traffic, Car Toys was struggling. They needed to beef up their creativity and catchiness of seasonal promotions to steal back traffic.
As the senior copywriter on their campaigns, I worked on dozens of concepts for quick moving animated display ads, focusing in on silly humor and a ton of enthusiasm to stand out from the drab, clean aesthetic of their competitors. We also focused in on what they can offer, like installation, service, and better bundling, vs. the spread shot approach of Amazon.
